  1 .I am a senior high student who has to commute from home to school every day.

  我是一位每天必须通勤的高中生。

  解说:

  commute vi,通勤;通学(定期往返于两地间)

  commuter n.通勤者

  commute from A to B 通勤于A与B两地之间

  commute to and from 通勤于……

  例:Thousands of people commute to and from work on the subway every day.

  数以千计的人每天乘地铁通勤上下班。

  Katherine is a commuter and buys a monthly train ticket.

  凯瑟琳是火车通勤者,买了月票。

  2. It is always an ordeal for me to仰to get on a crowded bus.

  对我来说,要挤上公交车总是一种很痛苦的经历。

  解说:

  a.ordeal n.严峻的考验,痛苦的经历

  例:Taking the college entrance exam is an ordeal for most high school students in China.

  参加大学人学考试对中国的高中生来讲是一种严峻的考验。

  c. get on /in/into 上大型/小型 车

  get off/out of 下大型/小型 车

  注意:

  凡是交通工具可使人们在其上面站立、行走,则介词用on,如上(下)公车、飞机、火车、船,用get on (get off)a bus , plane ,train , ship。若指仅能使人们在里面坐下而不能站立、行走的,则介词用in或into,如上(下)汽车(出租车),则用get in/into(get out of)a car、a taxi 。

  例:While Ivy was getting in a taxi,her boyfriend wrote down the licence plate number.

  a. (1) once在此处是为表示过去的时间副词,表示“一度/一次”之意,可置于句首,而其后有连接词and或but来连接两个从句。

  例:Once/There was a time when/At one time

  Mark was poor, but now he is quite rich.

  马克一度很穷,但他现在富有。

  (2) once也可表示“一·…就……”之意,是副词连接词,后要接主语,再接动词,其所引导的状语从句要置于句首,后加逗号,再接主句,此时once等于as soon as

  例:"Once/As soon as"I find out the truth·I will let you know.

  我一发现真相,就会让你知道

  b. feel为感觉动词,接宾语后,「可接动词原形或现在分词作宾语

  补语.常见的感觉动同及用法如下:

  看:see、look at、watch、observe

  感觉:feel听:hear、listen to

  用法如下:

  感觉动词+宾语+动词原形(表事实)

  +现在分词(表进行状态)

  例:"I saw him kill the little girl!”exclaimed the witness in court.

  这名证人在法庭上喊道:“我看见他杀了那个小女孩!”

  I heard somebody cutting his fingernails beside my bedside last night.

  昨晚我听见有人在我床边剪指甲。

  c·rear n.臀部,屁股(美口语)

  = butt (美口语)

  =ass (美俚)=arse(英俚)(此为粗俗语,应避免使用。)

  =bottom(美俚)

  =fanny (美俚)

  5. I couldn't turn around to see who did it because 1 was sandwiched between two tall men.

  我无法转过去看是谁做的,因为我被夹在两名高个子中间。

  解说:

  a. turn around转身,向后转

  turn back折回来

  例:The mentally disturbed man turned around and grinned broadly at me.

  那位精神错乱的男子回过头来对我咧嘴而笑。

  We came to a dead end and had to turn back.

  我们进入了一条死胡同,必须折返。

  b.sandwich vt.使夹在中间;插人&n.三明治

  be sandwiched between……被夹在……之中

  例:The little old lady was sandwiched between two bikers in line at the post office..

  那位瘦小的老妇人在邮局排队时被夹在两个飞车党之间。

  6. I was so angry that when the bus arrived at my school,I clenched my fists and elbowed my way through the crowd and got off.

  例:The old man clenched the railings tightly as he walked up the steps.

  He stood clenching his fists,not knowing how to vent his anger.

  c. elbow vt.以肘推;挤& n.肘

  elbow one's way through the crowd 推挤过人群

  inch one's way 慢慢而行

  feel one's way 摸索而行(在黑暗中)

  fumble/grope one's way摸索而行

  例:The sniper inched his way along the line of trees near the river.

  这名狙击手沿着河边的一行树慢慢移动。

  I felt my way along the wall after a sudden blackout.

  突然停电后,我沿着墙摸索前进。

  I somehow fumbled my way through Thailand without knowing a single word of Thai.

  7.Then .to my dismay,I found that my purse had been stolen from my school bag.

  注意:

  "to+所有格+表示情绪的名词”可构成介词短语,译成“令人……的是”,通常置于句首,作独立副词,用以修饰全句,有时亦可置于句中,前后各加逗号,作插人语使用,如本文。此类短语常见的有:

  另外,表示认知的名词有:

  to one's knowledge/understanding 就某人所知

  或:to the best of one's knowledge/understanding

  例:I learned, to my astonishment, that Debbie was madly in love with me.

  令我惊讶的是,我得知黛比疯狂地爱上我了。

  To her regret, she didn't go to see her mother before she died.

  令她后悔的是,她未在母亲过世前见她最后一面。

  To the best of my knowledge,this project will have to be canceled because of lack of support.

  就我所知,该计划因为缺乏支持将会被取消。

  b. purse n.(女用)钱包

  wallet n.(男用)皮夹

  c. school bag书包
